The Murray State Men's and Women's cross country teams will travel to Nashville, Tenn., Saturday, Oct. 31, to compete in the OVC Championships being hosted by Tennessee State. The men's 8k will get underway at 9 a.m. on Vaughn's Gap Course at Percy Warner Park, with the women's 5k beginning at 10 a.m.
The women have improved their finish at the OVC Championships each of the last four seasons and will look to continue that trend as they finished second last year. Katelyn Jones finished third in the event last season and has finished near the top in each meet this season as she has been named OVC Runner of the Week three times. Taylor Crawford turned in a seventh place finish last season and has been the top MSU runner in two of five meets this season.
Asenath Na'Aman has posted two top-ten finishes this season. During the Racers last meet of the season at the Evansville Invitational, she finished seventh and helped MSU collect their first team victory of the season.
Andrew Beckman is the top-returner from last years OVC Championships on the men's side as he turned in a 48th place finish. The men look to continue making strides and hope to improve on last year's eighth place finish.
Freshman, Derek Perry, has been the top Racer twice this season, with his best performance coming at the Tennessee Tech Invite where he turned in a 22nd place finish as the team finished fifth.
