Student-athletes barely have enough time for themselves each day and the free time that they do have in one way or the other is pent to improve themselves as a student and as an athlete. Most people view student-athletes as just that, a student and an athlete, but there is more to them.
There's another side of these special individuals, the giving side. A majority of student-athletes use their free time to improve themselves not in the classroom or the playing field, but as a person. They give their time to the community to help those less fortunate or for a cause they believe in.
The Murray State Women's soccer team donated Christmas gifts to the Toys For Tots foundation today in order to help needy children have a more enjoyable Christmas.
"It is a great feeling for the girls to give back to their community and help the people that come out and support us each year," said head coach Beth Acreman. "There is no better gift than the gift of giving and this really shows the character of the girls on our team."
