NCBWA Honors Hill as National Hitter of the Week

The accolades continue to roll in for Murray State junior outfielder Daniel Hill as the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association tabbed Hill the Pro-Line Athletic National Hitter of the Week Tuesday. On Monday, Hill was honored as the Louisville Slugger National Hitter of the Week by Collegiate Baseball and the Ohio Valley Conference Hitter of the Week.
Hill (Germantown, Tenn.) was honored after going 15-for-26 (.577) with nine runs scored, two doubles, five home runs and 18 RBIs in leading the ?Breds to a 5-1 week. He also posted a 1.231 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .633.
Hill's week got off to a good start as he went 6-for-8 with a home run and five RBIs in a pair of midweek victories over Freed-Hardeman and Arkansas State.
The numbers got even better in the four-game series with North Dakota State as Hill went 5-for-7 with a double, three home runs and eight RBIs in leading MSU to a 20-9 victory in the series opener. He tied the MSU single-game record with five hits and three home runs in helping the ?Breds set a single-game record with 28 hits.
Hill finished the four-game series going 9-for-17 (.529) with six runs scored, two doubles, four home runs and 13 RBIs as the ?Breds took three-of-four from the Bison.
