Hill Garners National Attention: Junior outfielder Daniel Hill put together a monster week that garnered national attention. After going 15-for-26 with nine runs scored, two doubles, five home runs and 18 RBIs, Hill was named the National Hitter of the Week by Collegiate Baseball and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, for the week ending March 8. He was also named the OVC Hitter of the Week. Hill leads the OVC with seven home runs and 26 RBIs, while ranking 10th with a .407 average.
Calhoun Silences Opponents: Junior left hander Daniel Calhoun has been dominant on the mound as he posts a 3-0 record with a 1.29 ERA. He is reigning two-time OVC Pitcher of the Week. In his last start, Calhoun struck out a career-best 14, including the final nine outs, in a seven-inning complete game two-hitter. He has not allowed an earned run in 15.2 innings.
Huff Holds Down Mid Week: Dan Huff has been the mid week starter for the ?Breds and has not disappointed. In three starts, four appearances, Huff is 3-0 with a 2.05 ERA and one save. He is coming off an outing against Mississippi Valley State in which he allowed six hits over seven scoreless innings.
Team ERA: The ?Breds pitching staff bolsters a team ERA of 3.92. The ERA ranks at the top of the OVC and is nearly a full run better than any other team in the conference.
