Racer Soccer Wins Spring Indoor Exhibition Tournament

"It was great to be successful in our first competition this spring,” MSU Head Coach Beth Acreman said. “We started the tournament very slow in round robin play, but ended strong which was important.”
Acreman said the spring training season is very important to being ready for the fall regular season when the Racers will defend their OVC championship from 2008.
“Our student-athletes understand how much the spring season means,” Acreman said. “They've been working hard this spring with conditioning so it was nice to see success on the field early on."
Veronika Pribyslavska and Sophie Hargreaves had a goal each to seal the win in the finals.
Maja Nordahl was named team MVP by coaching staff with her relentless efforts defensively for the Racers.
"Playing small sided competitions are a great way to see how players deal with situations in tight spaces,” Acreman said. “We have a talented and creative group of players, so it was nice to see some high level technical skills in the indoor environment.”
MSU's next exhibition competition is March 28 in
