Carrico Fires 63 - MSU Battles For Big BlueTitle In Nashville

The sophomore from
Carrico's 63 bested his previous MSU low round by one shot. He fired a 7-under 64 last September at the Racer program's home course Miller Memorial GC in the MSU Invitational.
Carrico's day of 63-72=135 put him in first place in the field of 70 competitors, two shots ahead of Middle Tennessee's Hunter Green who carded scores of 68-69=137 as an individual.
As a team,
MSU totaled team scores of 280-293=573 and were five shots behind first place
After Carrico's 135, Mitchell Moore (71-74=145) and Nick Newcomb (72-73=145) shared 15th place, while Chris Griffin had a spot in 35th place with rounds of 74-74=148. Jared Wolfe was in 41st position with rounds of 75-74=149. Hunter Ford is playing the tournament as an individual and had scores of 78-74=152 and was in 55th place.
The rest of the 12-team field included UT Martin and Tennessee Tech each at 579 and sharing third place with Lipscomb (584),
The General's Retreat course is playing to a par of 72 and 6,832 yards.
The final round of the 54-hole event will be played with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
