MSU Soccer Has Successful Exhibition At MTSU

The Murray State women's soccer team participated in the MTSU Spring Tournament in exhibition action over the weekend.

Saturday, the Racers slugged out a scoreless tie with Belmont before getting a 1-0 win over Middle Tennessee in the second match.

MSU's Rachel Wright scored the winner with a left footed kick.

"It was good to see the team in an 11v11 setting,” MSU Head Coach Beth Acreman said. “We want to build our foundations for the fall and I saw some good things from each player.”

Acreman said the Racers are having a productive spring training period.

“We have a young group so we still have a lot to work on and these games have allowed us to evaluate where we are and where we need to go from here,” she said. “I hope to see some more improvements by the end of the spring season".

MSU's spring practice season continues at Cutchin Field April 18 when the Racers host their alumni game.

The Racers end the spring season at Saint Louis University April 26.
