Murray State golfer Meagan McKinney competed in the 79^th Amateur Championship of the Women's Tran-National Golf Association in Louden, Tenn. at Tennessee National GC.

McKinney, a senior from Louisville, Ky., fired rounds of 80-80=160 in qualifying July 20 & 21 and survived a seven-way playoff for the final five spots in the field of 64 that advanced to the match play portion of the event.

Seeded 63rd, McKinney lost to Australia's Julia Boland 6&5 on July 22.

McKinney will join her MSU teammates in August as the Racers look toward a big 2009-10 season.

The Racers won the Ohio Valley Conference championship last April, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
