MSU Soccer Plays Blue-Gold Scrimmage

The Murray State women's soccer team played its annual Racer Blue-Gold Scrimmage Sunday at Cutchin Field in Murray, Ky.

The gold team came away with a 2-0 win.

The first gold goal was scored by Sydney Smith who deflected in a crossing pass from Audrey Wilson in the first half.

Katie Wilson scored the second goal off a rebound in the second half.

"It was great to see our team in 11v11 situations," MSU Head Coach Beth Acreman said. "I saw a lot of good combination play today and also team chemistry. I am looking forward to continuing our hard work and having our student-athletes challenge each other the rest of the preseason."

The Racers travel north to take on IPFW in an exhibition match in Fort Wayne, Ind. Saturday at 7 p.m.

MSU opens the season Aug. 21 at Arkansas-Little Rock.

The home opener for the Racers is Sep. 4 when MSU welcomes SIU Edwardsville, Georgia State, and Alabama A&M to Cutchin Field for the Racer Classic.
