Weather Holds Off For Tuesday Practice

Mother nature cooperated as cooler temperatures and cloudy skies hovered over Stewart Stadium as Murray State conducted its fifth practice Tuesday afternoon. A few early sprinkles brought a breeze that was a far cry from the hot and humid conditions that greeted the team at the start of camp.
The Racers will step away from the practice field Wednesday as they will take a trip to Fort Campbell to participate in team-building exercises and meet some interesting people.
MSU will return to the practice field Thursday with a pair of practices at 8:15 a.m. and 4:05 p.m.
Head Coach Matt Griffin
On Tuesday's Practice:
“Really good day. The weather kind of came in our favor a little bit and it wasn't as hot. I thought the kids had great enthusiasm throughout. I was really pleased with the offensive execution early in the team period and our defense turned it up, especially the defensive line, and really made some plays. It's great competition and it is just making us better on both sides of the ball.”
On the Trip to Fort Campbell:
“This is a great opportunity and privilege to take a day and head to Fort Campbell. A lot of great team building exercises we will be able to do and a lot of great people we will be able to meet, see and hear from. It is certainly something our kids have never done, with the exception of the two on our roster from Fort Campbell, and we are very privileged to have the opportunity, especially in the time of war. We're excited and it is a well deserved day for them.”
