Racers Conduct Crisp Friday Practice

Fresh off their first scrimmage of the preseason, the Murray State football team took to the field for their eighth practice Friday afternoon on the turf at Stewart Stadium.
“Coming off that first scrimmage on a really hot day, I was really pleased with the effort and execution,” said head coach Matt Griffin. “The guys were focused on both sides of the ball, and the kicking was good early. They continued to battle through the heat and nobody has complained. We haven't had any heat related issues and we going to keep working through it.”
The Racers will return to practice tomorrow with a pair of practices. The first practice is set to begin at 8:25 a.m. with the second practice set to get underway at 3:55 p.m. The second practice will be in full pads and consist of a 50-play scrimmage.

On What To Expect at Saturday's Scrimmage
“We will have a couple more situations we will add in and certainly a lot more reps. There are a couple positions that are still up in the air and we will see what guys will take them over.”
