2009 Football Season Officially Underway

The 2009 Murray State football season officially got underway Wednesday morning as head coach Matt Griffin and his staff welcomed the players for the start of Fall Camp.
The players checked in at Stewart Stadium before meeting with members of the athletic training staff and being issued their equipment.
Camp begins with three days of strength and condition tests that will be conducted by head strength coach Darren Edgington. The players will be tested in the weight room, as well as on the turf. The Racers will conduct their first practice in pads Saturday afternoon.
The Racers will go through three weeks of camp before opening the 2009 season Sept. 3 against Kentucky Wesleyan. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Stewart Stadium.
