Harris Named Pepsi Athlete of the Week

After his record breaking performance in the 2009 season opener against Kentucky Wesleyan, Marcus Harris was named the Pepsi Student-Athlete of the Week.

This is Harris' third honor this week after he was named the FCS Special Teams Player of the Week and the Ohio Valley Conference Specialist of the Week.

Harris (St. Louis, Mo.) was chosen after becoming the first Racer to return a kickoff and a punt for a touchdown in the same game. He accomplished the task by returning a kickoff 86 yards in the third quarter, marking the first kickoff return for touchdown since 2005.

After hauling in a 13-yard touchdown reception on the next Racers' possession, Harris fielded a punt on his own 25 and raced untouched up the middle for the 75-yard touchdown.

Harris finished the game with 83 yards on two punt returns and 125 yards on two kickoff returns. He added 17 yard receiving and finished the game with 225 all-purpose yards.
