Alexandra Lennartsson Named OVC Golfer Of The Week

Murray State's Alexandra Lennartsson is the Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week in news announced by the league office in Franklin, Tenn.
Lennartsson, a freshman from Nykoping, Sweden, won for the first time in her third event in a Racer uniform when she claimed medalist honors Tuesday at the Lady Red Wolfe Classic in Jonesboro, Ark., at Sage Meadows CC.
Lennartsson helped her team finish second as she topped the field of 47 players with rounds of 76-70-73=219. In the final statistics from the event, she played was the best on par-5 holes at 2-under-par and she led the field with 10 birdies in the 54-hole tournament.
Her 2-under-par 70 in the second round was the lowest in her career.
Lennartsson is the first MSU student-athlete to win as a freshman since Leann Pace won the OVC Championship in April of 2003.
MSU's next event is Oct. 18-19 at the Austin Peay Invitational at Clarksville CC, in Clarksville, Tenn.
