Caroline Lagerborg Earns OVC Golfer Of The Week Award

Murray State senior Caroline Lagerborg was named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Golfer of the Week by the league office Wednesday.

The native of Alta, Sweden, took home the first collegiate medalist honors of her career by carding rounds of 72-73 to finish at 145 (+1) at the F&M Bank Austin Peay Intercollegiate held at the Clarksville CC on Tuesday.

Her win made it two Murray State winners in as many weeks.

Lagerborg bested the field of 77 competitors and finished three strokes ahead of second place and her play helped the Racers to the team championship, as MSU set the tournament low score for 18 rounds (298) and 36 rounds (604).

Lagorborg's 145 was one stroke off the tournament record of 144 set by former Racer Lee-Ann Pace in 2003.

Through 11 rounds this fall, Lagerborg ranks ninth in the OVC in stroke average (76.2).

Lagerborg shared the OVC weekly honor with Emma Jonsson of Morehead State.
