William Hunt Earns OVC Golfer Of The Week Award

Murray State junior William Hunt was named Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week by the league office.
Hunt, from Paducah, Ky., fired rounds of 71-72-69 to finish at 212 (-1) and capture medalist honors at his team's own tournament, the MSU Invitational held at Miller Memorial GC.
Hunt's 2-under-par round of 69 on Tuesday helped the junior overcome a four-shot deficit entering the final round to capture the first medalist honors of his collegiate career.
His performance also helped the Racers capture the team championship by seven strokes, the seventh-straight year MSU has won its own tournament.
Through nine rounds this season, Hunt leads the OVC with a 71.7 stroke average.
Hunt's award is the second OVC weekly honor for the Racers this season following Patrick Newcomb's selection Sept. 15.
The Racers play Monday and Tuesday at the UTM Skyhawk Invitational at Paris Landing State Park in Paris, Tenn.
