Racers Improve Standing at Pat Bradley Invitational

The MurrayState women's golf team moved up four spots to 11th place after the second round of the Pat Bradley Invitational in Fort Meyers, Fla., at Pelican Preserve CC.
The Racers improved 17 shots from round one when they carded a 303 Monday after posting a 320 Sunday in round one. MSU's 36-hole total of 623 was good for 11th place, ahead of Troy (624), Oakland (625), Drake (656) and Bethune-Cookman (664).
Caroline Lagerborg and Alex Lennartsson of MSU shared 36th place in the field of 81 competitors. Lagerborg had scores of 79-76=155, while Lennartsson had scores of 81-74=155. Delaney Howson was in 56th place with scores of 76-84=160, while Morgan Cross and Allie Weaver shared 60th place. Cross had rounds of 85-76=161, while Weaver carded 84-77=161.
The Racers were just behind 10th place South Alabama (618), ninth place Florida Atlantic (613) and eighth place FloridaGulfCoast (610).
North Texas jumped past Western Michigan for the lead with a 588 score. DaytonaCollege (589) had second place with WMU in third at 594. Maryland (595), Cincinnati (603), Florida International (603) and Stetson (609) rounded out the top seven teams.
The event, hosted by FloridaInternationalUniversity is named in honor of FIU alum and LPGA Hall of Famer, Pat Bradley.
The course used for the tournament at Pelican Preserve CC is nine holes from the Heron and Egret courses and plays 6,241 yards to a par of 72.
The event finishes with 18 holes on Tuesday.
