Soccer to Hold Mission Trip Fundraiser Thursday Night at Nick’s

The Murray State soccer team will be holding a fundraiser Thursday, Nov. 18, from 5:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at Nick's in Murray, Ky., in preparation for their winter mission trip to Jamaica.
The Racers will be traveling to Kingston, Jamaica, Jan. 9-16 as part of a trip conducted through Global Soccer Missionary. While in Jamaica, they will play a pair of games against local club teams as well as conducting humanitarian efforts, including running a youth soccer outreach clinic at partnering orphanages.
“"This is a once in a life time opportunity for the team,” head coach Beth Acreman said. “It will give us a chance to train and play but most importantly give back to the community and help underprivileged children in Jamaica. I know the players will have a fantastic time and it will be a great start to preparing the team for our 2011 season”
Receipts can be placed in a soccer rebate box with proceeds going to the soccer team. Donations directly to the team are also welcome.
Nicks is located at 616 N. 12th street in Murray.
