The Murray State women's soccer team had three players selected to All-Ohio Valley Conference teams as voted on by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.
Junior Sophie Hargreaves was named All-OVC First Team, with sophomore Danielle McMurray being selected for All-OVC Second Team honors, and freshman Shauna Wicker was selected for the All-OVC Newcomer Team.
Hargreaves, a midfielder from Leeds, England, was forced into defensive duty for much of the OVC schedule due to injuries. An All-OVC Second Team selection in 2008 and All-OVC First Team member in 2009, she led the Racers in goals (6), assists (3), and shots (37). She was named OVC Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 4-10 after scoring the Racers' first hat trick in three seasons in a 3-0 defeat over Tennessee Tech.
McMurray received All-OVC accolades for the second straight season after being named All-OVC Second Team, All-OVC Newcomer Team, and OVC Freshman of the Year in 2009. The Germantown, Tenn., native scored a goal and an assist in 16 games played this season. Her goal was the match-winner in the Racers' 1-0 victory over Jacksonville State.
Wicker was second on the team with three goals in her rookie campaign. She scored three consecutive goals in the middle of the season in matches against Louisiana Tech, Western Michigan, and Morehead State, with two coming on headers off of corner kicks. The Almo, Ky., native became a fixture in the MSU starting lineup, drawing all of her starts this season in the final 12 games.
