Propst Unanimous Selection as OVC Hitter of the Week

After registering three multi-hit games in Murray State's season-opening sweep of Lipscomb, the league office announced Monday that senior infielder Bryan Propst was a unanimous selection as the Ohio Valley Conference Hitter of the Week.
Propst (Springfield, Mo.) finished the weekend by going 7-for-14 (.500) with a double, two home runs, five RBIs and five runs scored. In the opening game, Propst went 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored. He led off the fifth inning with a solo home to left field to tie the game 1-1. He came back up in the sixth an delivered a base hit to spark a four-run inning to help propel the Breds to the 8-7 victory.
The second game was the same for Propst, as he went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI, two runs scored and two walks. He walked and scored in his first at bat, singled and scored in the third and delivered an RBI double in the fourth to help the Breds to an early 9-0 advantage.
Propst closed out his weekend by going 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs. After being retired in his first two at bats, Propst stepped to the plate with two on and two outs in the fifth. He delivered with a two-run single up the middle to cap off a four-run inning to give the Breds the lead for good. He added a single through the left side in the seventh and hit his second home run of the weekend on the first pitch thrown in the top of the ninth.
Propst extended his hitting streak to seven games, dating back to the final four games of last season.
