Women's Tennis Sweeps Belmont

The Murray State women's tennis team went 7-0 against Belmont this weekend at Kenlake.
Angela McGahee defeated Abby Leatherwood in two sets 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 1 singles position.
At the No. 2 position Cassidy Cunitz took on Laura Stack and won the match in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.
The rest of the Racers took their matches in two sets. A close call was between Ashley Canty and Lindsay Bennett. Canty won the first set 6-4 and took the match in a close set, 7-5.
In doubles play Ashley Wiseman and McGahee teamed up against Leatherwood and Stack to come out with a 8-1 victory. Lyndsay Ottosen and Cunitz went up against Natalia Nunez and Abbey Hogan and came out on top, 8-3. Alexis Webb and Canty won a close match against Catherine Holliday and Bennett, 8-6.
The Racers will compete again Tue., Mar. 2nd against Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Ill. The match is set to begin at 2:00 p.m.
