The Murray State baseball team travels to Nashville, Tenn. to face Belmont for the second time during the 2010 season. First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at Shelby Park.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Breds and Bruins are meeting for the 2nd time this season and the 13th time overall. MSU holds a 7-5 advantage in the all-time series, but the Bruins took the meeting earlier this season, 8-6, at Reagan Field. MSU is 2-2 in games played in Nashville, Tenn.
Breds and Bruins Meet Again
Murray State and Belmont are meeting for the second time during the 2010 season. The two mets met March 2 at Reagan Field with the Bruins coming away with an 8-6 victory.
Frey Becomes All-Time Hit Leader
It took Elliot Frey 125 games to put his name atop the Murray State record books as he was hit by his 32nd pitch in his career, tying the career mark set by Ronnie Seets. Frey already held the single-season mark of 16 set during his freshman season.
Doubleheader Home Runs
Wes Cunningham has been locked in at the plate during doubleheaders this season. In back-to-back weeks Mid-Continent and Austin Peay, Cunningham hit a pair of home runs in the first game, and another in second game.
Cunningham Climbs Career Charts
Senior first baseman Wes Cunningham continues to climb the career hitting charts. He currently ranks first on the career batting average list, as well as tied for fourth in triples, sixth in total bases, tied for 7th in home runs, and tied for 10th in hits and RBIs.
On Deck
The Breds open their Ohio Valley Conference home season against UT Martin on April 2-3. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. both days.
