MSU Women's Golf 2nd After One Round At SIU

The Murray State women's golf team stands in second place after the first 18 holes of the 36-hole Saluki Invitational at Hickory Ridge GC in Carbondale, Ill.
MSU fired a first round 315 and stands 12 shots behind first-place Drake (303) with the final 18 holes to be played Monday.
Joyce Trus leads the way for MSU after a 3-over 75 and has second place in the medalist competition which has a field of 93 players. Morgan Cross had a spot in ninth place after a 78, while Megan McKinney was in 14th position with an 80. Andrea Downer and Alex Lennartsson each carded an 82 and were in 25th place, while Caroline Lagerborg was in 60th place after an 88.
MSU's Alex Hinteregger was in 48th place playing as an individual with an 86, with Jilian Brake in 74th place after a 91.
Indiana State was tied with the Racers after a 315, with host SIU (316) in fourth place.
Western Illinois was in fifth place at 322, while Ball State (323), Eastern Kentucky (325), Bradley (331), Creighton (335) and Austin Peay (340) rounded out the top-10.
The final round begins Monday morning at Hickory Ridge GC that is playing to a par of 72 and 6,017 yards.
