The Murray State Women's Soccer squad hosted a day of competition Saturday on Cutchin Field in Murray, Ky., that included a pair of spring scrimmages with Southeast Missouri State and Bellarmine.
Against Bellarmine, the Racers got goals from Sophie Hargreaves on a penalty kick in the first half and Rachel Wright in the second half to get a 2-0 win.
Katie Wilson had been fouled to set up the first goal and Laken Dirkes assisted on the second goal.
The Racers dropped a tight 1-0 loss to SEMO in the second game.
"It was good to see the team in a full sided game," Head Coach Beth Acreman said. "We still have some things to work on going into the summer but it was great to get some players back from injury."
The Racers have two spring exhibitions remaining.
Saturday they play a 2 p.m. match at Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and then wrap up the spring with the MSU Alumni game April 24 at 2 p.m. at Cutchin Field.
"We still have a couple more events to play this spring and I hope to see improvements going into those games," Acreman added. "We need better control and decisions with the ball."
