NCAA Golf Championship - Rain Gone For Racer Finish

Jared Wolfe was MSU's best after 36 holes with scores of 73-73=146 and a spot in 44th place in the field of 75 players, while Patrick Newcomb was in 53rd place after scores of 72-76=148. Chris Griffin had a spot in 63rd place along with teammate Nick Newcomb. Griffin had scores of 76-74=150, while Cameron Carrico was in 67th place with rounds of 76-76=152.
Nick Newcomb was the only Racer that didn't have to finish after he posted a 72 for a 36-hole total of 150 and a spot in 53rd place.
In two rounds, the Racers posted scores of 297-295=592 and had a spot in 13th place in the field of 14 teams. St. Francis (PA) was in 14th with scores of 319-304=623, while Detroit Mercy was in front of the Racers in 12th place at 297-289=586.
No. 1 seed Stanford had surged ahead of Florida and Florida State with a 3-shot lead. Stanford had scores of 277-279=556, while the Gators, the No. 2 seed, had scores of 279-280=559. FSU had scores of 283-276=559. Northwestern was in fourth at 563, while Michigan (566), Iowa (567), LSU (569), Indiana (571) and Virginia Tech (572) made up the top-10.
The Notre Dame Regional is being played at the Warren GC that is playing 7,023 yards and to a par of 70.
The field went into the final round at 9:30 a.m. local time with eyes on gaining one of the top-5 seeds which earns a spot in the NCAA Men's Golf Championship June 1-6 at the Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The Racers had eyes on finishing on a high note as they made their first appearance in the NCAA Championship in 19 years after winning the Ohio Valley Conference Championship.
MSU seniors Chris Griffin, Nick Newcomb and Jared Wolfe were set to play their final round with the Racers.
