The Murray State Women's Golf team is ready to tackle the NCAA Women's Golf Tournament for the second straight season when they compete in the central region in Columbus, Ind., Thursday through Saturday.
A year after getting to play on the Scarlet Course at Ohio State, the Racers tee it up this time at Otter Creek GC, one of the top public venues in the nation.
Otter Creek was designed by Robert Trent Jones and son Rees Jones.
The original design was by the father in 1964 and an additional nine holes was added by the son in 1995.
This 27-hole championship course is set in Southern Indiana and has received great reviews for many years as one of the top public courses in the U.S.
"We're excited to be back in the NCAA Tournament again, not only representing our school, but also the Ohio Valley Conference," MSU Head Coach Velvet Milkman said. "And to compete on a great course like Otter Creek is something our team is looking forward to."
MSU's team is made up of three seniors (Andrea Downer, Megan McKinney and Joyce Trus), one junior (Caroline Lagerborg) and one sophomore (Morgan Cross).
The Racers, seeded 22nd in the field of 24 teams, begin Wednesday with a practice round at 11:38 a.m. central time.
The 54-hole event gets going Thursday on the 10th hole when the Racers have their first of five tee times at 12:25 p.m.
MSU's Friday tee times also begin at 10th hole with the first at 7:55 a.m.
