MSU Student-Athletes Honored by OVC for Academic Success

The Medal of Honor is given annually to student-athletes who achieve the highest grade point average, a 4.0 GPA.
The 2009-10 recipients of the honor for Murray State included: Marc Harmon and Kyle Tiernan (baseball); Rachael Isom (women's basketball); Kayla Crusham (cross country and track & field); James Stevenson (men's golf); Sarah Seay (women's golf); Laken Dirkes (soccer); and Sara Hayden (volleyball).
Seay earned her third-straight OVC Medal of Honor, while this is the second-straight honor for both Isom and Stevenson.
The OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll award goes to student-athletes that have a 3.25 GPA or better and were eligible to compete for their teams during the season.
“I am proud to see so many of our student-athletes committed to both their athletic and academic careers,” said Athletics Director Allen Ward. “Every one of the 105 athletes that earned an academic honor from the OVC is an example of what we strive for at Murray State.”
