Racer Soccer Hits Road to Open 2010 Season

The Murray State soccer team opens the 2010 regular season with a pair of non-conference road contests.
Head coach Beth Acreman's squad travels to Louisville, Ky., Aug. 20 for a 3:00 p.m. match against Bellarmine. The Knights finished second in 2009 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference and earned their first NCAA Tournament appearance in school history with a 14-4-1 record.
The Racers close out weekend play Aug. 22 against Saint Louis at 1:00 p.m. The Billikens return 18 players after compiling an 8-9-4 record in 2009 and finishing tied for fifth in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
MSU brings back seven seniors and 16 players from the 2009 OVC Tournament champion team. They enter this season having been chosen first in preseason voting conducted by the league's coaches and sports information directors.
The Racers return home Aug. 27, as hosts of the Racer Classic. MSU opens the tournament with South Florida before closing out the two-day tournament with Alabama A&M Aug. 29.
