Brinkley Named Pepsi Athlete Of The Week

Murray State football player Nathan Brinkley has been selected Pepsi Athlete of the Week for Sept. 13 - Sept. 19.
A junior corner back from Chewiston, Fla., Brinkley paced the Racer defense with 10 tackles (nine solo, one assist), including 1.5 tackles-for-loss for a total of nine yards in Murray State's 21-20 loss at Central Arkansas.
He forced a fumble on the Central Arkansas' 25 yard line on the Bears' first possession of the second quarter that resulted in MSU taking possession on the 22 yard-line. The Racers reached the end zone four plays later to take a 17-14 lead, their first of the game.
Brinkley is tied for the team lead with 25 tackles and has the defense's lone interception, a 40 yard return in the season opener against Kent State.
