Josha Rogers was the top finisher for the Racers in any event, earning a fifth-place finish in the high jump (1.60m).

The Murray State indoor track & field team opened the main part of its season at the Saluki Open in Carbondale, Ill. at a non-team scored meet.

Meet Results

The Racers' meet was highlighted by newcomer Rebecca Hbetamu and Josha Rogers. Hbetamu finished seventh in the 3,000-meter run in a time of 10:43.27. Hbetamu was one of five MSU runners to finish in the top-15 in the race. Katelyn Jones finished 10^th (11:00.22), Kristin Reffett was 11^th (11:16.34), Kayla Crusham was 14^th (11:24.29) and Karissa Magnson was 15^th (11:25.20).

“Rebecca Hbetamu had a good debut as a Racer,” said head coach Jenny Severns. “It was good to see where everyone is coming off the break, now it is time to buckle down and work hard.

Josha Rogers was the top finisher in any event for the Racers, taking fifth in the high jump. Rogers made it over the bar at 1.60m (5'3”).

MSU will next compete in the EIU Mega Meet, Jan. 21-22 in Charleston, Ill.
