Breds Post 3.25 GPA During Fall Semester

The success of the Murray State baseball team has carried over to the classroom as the team finished the Fall, 2010, semester with a 3.25 cumulative GPA. The Breds have 12 members on the Dean's List, while four of those players finished the semester with a 4.0 GPA.

“This goes a long way in showing the type of student-athletes that we have at Murray State,” said head coach Rob McDonald. “These guys not only put in a lot of hard work and dedication on the baseball field, but they are putting in just as much work in the classroom. I could not be more proud of these young men.”

Members of the Dean's List include Bo Akers, Brandon Eggenschwiler, Elliot Frey, Will Handlin, Derek Hayden, Travis Isaak, Joe Major, Zach Noonan, Drew Pixley, Jordan Queen, Paul Ritzheimer and Ty Stetson.

Akers, Handlin, Isaak and Ritzheimer each finished the semester with a perfect 4.0.

The Breds open the 2011 season Feb. 18-20 at UNC Asheville. The home opener is set for Feb. 25 against Bowling Green.
