MSU Women's Golf Sets Scoring Mark At APSU Intercollegiate

The Murray State women's golf team carded an Austin Peay Intercollegiate single round record Monday when they posted a 293 in the first round of the event at the Links at Novadel in Hopkinsville, Ky.
MSU's 293 broke the record they set last fall when they shot a 298 at Clarksville Country Club.
MSU's lead was three shots over Eastern Kentucky who posted a 296, while Jacksonville State (299), Austin Peay (300) and Belmont (303) rounded out the top five.
Alexandra Lennartsson led the Racers with a 72 in round one, with Delaney Howson and Morgan Cross each adding a 73. Alli Weaver had a 75, while Sophie Olley scored a 76.
MSU had three players in the field of 64 competing as individuals led by Claudia Schwan who posted an 79. Gina Nuzzo scored a 90 and Madolyn Parker recorded a 93.
The Links at Novadel is playing to a par of 72 and 6,008 yards.
The 36-hole event concludes Tuesday with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
