MSU Golf Places Seventh At MTSU Event

The Murray State women's golf team came home with a seventh place showing at the Blue Raider Invitational played at Old Fort Golf Club in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
The Racers finished the event with rounds of 312, 306, 306=923 and finished ahead of UTEP at 930. MSU trailed sixth place Southern Illinois at 921.
Alexandra Lennartsson led the Racers with a spot in 16th place with rounds of 72-78-77=227. Morgan Cross and Delaney Howson shared 25th place in the field of 78 competitors. Cross rebounded from a first round 83 to score rounds of 73 and 75 for a 231. Howson had scores of 79-76-76=231. Alli Weaver had rounds of 79-78-78=235 for a spot in 37th place, while Sophie Olley finished 74th with scores of 82-83-86=251.
MSU had two players in the event as individuals. Claudia Schwan shot rounds of 82-86-87=255, while Gina Nuzzo placed 76th with scores of 93-83-86=262.
Host Middle Tennessee won the event with a score of 886, while Lamar (900), Arkansas State (908), Louisiana-Monroe (912) and Arkansas-Little Rock (913) made up the top-5. After SIU, Murray State and UTEP, the rest of the field included: Troy (930), Belmont (941), Winthrop (942), South Alabama (949) and Western Kentucky (976).
