Murray State Athletics wants to remind fans of the single game promotions for the 2011-12 basketball season. The promotions include ticket specials, group nights, t-shirt giveaways and chances to win big ticket prizes. Director of Marketing Morris White is excited for this year's promotions. “Racer fans are in for a treat this year. We're looking to pack the CFSB Center for every men's and women's basketball game and get our fans more involved with the action,” White said.
Fans are encouraged to participate in the Nike Basketball NCAA Campus Roar 2011. The top 'roars' for the top sixteen teams will be turned into t-shirts by Nike. Roars can be submitted via Twitter or Facebook as often as you'd like and every day is a chance to win. To cast your vote for the Racers click here.
Faculty and staff of Murray State will get complimentary tickets for the men's game on Thursday, December 15 against Lipscomb at 7 p.m. The Reidland and Graves County High School cheerleaders are scheduled to perform at halftime. Fans who buy one ticket at regular price can get a second ticket for free at the game against Arkansas State on Saturday, December 17 at 7 p.m. Halftime entertainment will be provided by the Calloway-County Little Dribblers. Those who received a voucher on December 4, can redeem it at the match-up against UT-Martin on December 21 at 7:00 p.m. for $1 admission. Fans will also have the chance to take their picture with Santa Claus before the game from 6:00-6:50 p.m.
Racers can "Pick Four Plus More" this season as well. You can pick any four men's basketball games after January 1 and get two FREE tickets to the women's games on January 30th and February 6 for only $25 dollars! Click here to pick your four games.
Racer Basketball encourages all fans to wear white at the United Way “WHITE OUT” during the double header on Saturday, January 14 for State Farm High School Night. Special “white out” shirts will also be provided. More free t-shirts will flood the CFSB Center at the double- header on Saturday, February 11 when fans in attendance will receive gold t-shirts and be asked to “BE BOLD, WEAR GOLD”.
Hall of Fame Night will take place on Saturday, January 28 when the Racers take on Eastern Illinois at 7:00 p.m. Inductees William "Bill" Beard, Bob Doty, William Hampton, Don Mann, Nikki Orazine, and Frank Fazi will be recognized at halftime.
On Feb. 6, Racer women's basketball is asking fans to help set a new attendance record as part of the NCAA Pack the House Challenge. The purpose of this initiative is to build on the success of women's college basketball and prepare the next generation of women's basketball players and fans. This is also Girls Scouts Night for area troops.
At each of the remaining men's games, one lucky fan will have the opportunity to make a series of shots and win a Harley-Davidson motorcycle at halftime, courtesy of Four Rivers Harley-Davidson in Paducah and Froggy 103.7. Simply sign up at the promotions stand for your chance to be randomly selected.
“Fans can also look forward to great giveaways, including the Harley Davidson and cash. You never know when your name will be called, so it's best to be at every home game this season, especially Murray State students,” said White. In hopes of drawing more students to games, some of the best prizes will go to members of the Stampede, the official student cheering section. “It's simple: the more students we have join the Stampede, the better the atmosphere and experience will be for everyone,” said White.
