The Murray State women's indoor track & field team is heading to Cape Girardeau, Mo., for the Redhawks Invitational, Friday, Feb. 18. The meet is the final tune-up for the Racers before the 2011 Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championship (Feb. 24-26).

MSU has been participating in the event since the 2007-08 campaign and has competed against teams from Conference USA and the SEC as well as other top teams in the nation.

The Racers have seen success in the event, including four top-5 finishes a season ago. Junior Lexie Barr led MSU with a first-place finish in the pole vault. She hit a personal-record height of 3.51m (11'6.25”). Senior Audris Williams finished second in the long jump, with a jump of 5.39m (17'8.25”). Junior Christina Johnson was fourth in the 600 (1:48.60 and sophomore Ayerial Rouse took fifth in the 300 (43.94) to round out the top performers for the Racers a season ago.
