B.J. Jenkins Earns OVC Player Of The Week Honors

Murray State senior guard B.J. Jenkins was voted the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week by the league's sports information directors.
Jenkins (Virginia Beach, Va.) helped the Racers to title clinching wins last week as MSU topped Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky to win the OVC Championship outright, the 22nd title all-time for the Racers.

In the win against Morehead State, a team they were tied for first place with entering the night, Jenkins scored a career-high 25 points (20 in the second half) on 6-of-10 shooting including 4-of-6 from 3-point range. He also tied his career-high by pulling down seven rebounds and had three steals and two assists.
In the win over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday, Jenkins once again was big in the second half, scoring 13 of his 18 points in the second half while also adding six rebounds, four assists and two steals. For the game he was 5-of-7 from the field, 2-of-4 form 3-point range and 6-of-7 from the free throw line.
For the week he had only two turnovers in 65 minutes of action and averaged 21.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
The Racers (23-7, 14-4 OVC) are the top seed in the OVC Tournament and begin play in the semifinals Friday at 7 p.m. at Municipal Auditorium against either (8) UT Martin, (5) Tennessee State or (4) Tennessee Tech.
