Coach to speak at second high school coaches clinic

Murray State head baseball coach Rob McDonald will be a featured speaker at the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches clinic Friday in Wichita, Kan. McDonald will speak on catching skills and drills, as well as the execution of special plays.

“I always have mixed feelings about missing a couple days of practice,” said McDonald. “However, when I look at the big picture, as far as what is best for our program, the opportunity to represent the Murray State baseball program in front of the Kansas coaches is a great opportunity and will benefit us in the long run.”

McDonald recently spoke at the Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association in Louisville on Jan. 14.

The Breds began practice last Friday in preparation of the start of the 2011 season on Feb. 18-20 at UNC Asheville. The home opener is set for Feb. 25 against Bowling Green at 2 p.m. at Reagan Field.
