The Murray State men's golf team had a spot in 12^th place after the first round of the FAU Spring Break Invitational at Gleneagles GC in Delray Beach, Fla.

The Racers carded a 305 in round one and led 13^th place Marquette (306), 14^th place Connecticut (308) and 15^th place South Florida (310). MSU trailed 11^th place Northern Illinois (300) and 10^th place Michigan State (297).

Cameron Carrico had a spot in 10^th place in the field of 90 competitors after he scored a 1-under par 71. Hunter Ford was in 44^th place after recording a 75, while Patrick Newcomb's 79 earned a spot in 69^th place. Hunter York was in 74^th place with an 80 and Dustin Gosser's 87 gave him a spot in 87^th.

Ohio State was the leader after one round at 278, with DePaul in second at 286. Nebraska (291), host Florida Atlantic (292), Minnesota (292), Florida Gulf Coast (293), Miami of Ohio (295), Northwestern (295) and Marshall (295) rounded out the top-9.

Dan Charen of Ohio State was the individual leader at 67.

The Gleaneagles GC course is playing to a par of 72 and 6,739 yards.

The event calls for 18 holes Saturday and Sunday starting at 8:30 a.m. local time.
