Noonan Named adidas OVC Hitter of the Week

Senior goes 9-for-16 with nine RBIs during week
After tieing the single-game hits record in the series opener against North Dakota State, Murray State senior Zach Noonan was named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Hitter of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Noonan (Louisville, Ky.) finished the week by going 9-for-16 (.563) with three doubles, a triple, a grand slam and nine RBIs. After delivering a pinch-hit single to center against Arkansas State on Wednesday, Noonan unleashed an attack on NDSU in the opener Friday. The outfielder tied the school record by going 6-for-6 with three doubles, a grand slam and seven RBIs.
The six hits ties the record that was set by Elliot Frey in 2008. The seven RBIs also betters Noonan's career high of six that he set against Southeast Missouri in 2008.
Noonan returned to the lineup for the doubleheader on Sunday and promptly tripled in his first at-bat, and finished the game going 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs.
On the season, Noonan is hitting .375, and leads the team with 15 hits, two home runs and 11 RBIs. He is also tied for the team lead with nine runs scored an three doubles.
