Webb Named OVC adidas Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Murray State women's tennis senior Alexis Webb has been named the Ohio Valley Conference adidas Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for April 13.

Webb went 4-0 at No. 3 singles and 4-0 at No. 2 doubles last week as Murray State defeated Austin Peay, SIU Edwardsville, Eastern Illinois and Morehead State. The wins pushed her OVC record for the season to 7-1 in singles and 4-3 in doubles. She has won her last eight matches and is 9-1 in her last 10. Webb has also been the winner in her last five doubles matches with Carla Suga.

The Racers are currently preparing to face Austin Peay in the first round of the 2011 OVC Women's Tennis Championship, Friday, April 15 at 10 a.m. at the Lone Oak Tennis Center in Paducah, Ky.
