Murray State will have to come from behind in the final 18 holes in order to claim their third straight conference championship and punch their ticket to their third straight appearance in the NCAA appearance.
“I'm very proud of our team today, they hung in there on a day when the wind was really making it tough out there“, MSU head coach Velvet Milkman said. “We've put ourselves in a position to be able to compete for the championship on the final day. So we'll come out Saturday and give it our best.”
Morgan Cross leads MSU with a spot in second place after scores of 72-77=149, six shots off the lead of Morehead's Emma jonsson who posted scores of 70-73=143.
Morehead State is the leader with scores of 292-307=599, with the Racers close behind with rounds of 297-310=607. Eastern Kentucky moved into third place with scores of 305-210=615, while Jacksonville State dropped to fourth with rounds of 304-313=617. Austin Peay (319-312=631), Eastern Illinois (327-330=657), Tennessee Tech (337-325=662) and Tennessee State (365-369=734) round out the rest of the field.
The final round Saturday begins with the first group going off the first tee at 8 a.m.
Murray State will be paired with Morehead State and Eastern Kentucky with Lagerborg first off at 9:40 a.m. Alli Weaver begins at 9:50 a.m. with Howson at 10 a.m. MSU has Lennartsson teeing off at 10:10 a.m. and with Cross at 10:20 a.m.
The course at GreyStone is playing to a par of 72 and 6,049 yards.
The weather forecast calls for a 10 percent chance of rain and a high of 83 degrees with gusty winds.

The Murray State women's golf team managed to stay close to the lead in round two of the Ohio Valley Conference Championship being played at GreyStone GC in Dickson, Tenn.
The Racers carded a second round 310 Friday while leader Morehead State had a 307. The Racers' 36-hole total of 607 is eight shots behind the Eagles with the final round coming Saturday morning.
