Cameron Carrico Named OVC Golfer Of The Week

Murray State's Cameron Carrico was named Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office.
Carrico, a senior from Owensboro, Ky., won the award for the second time this spring after he won medalist honors at the Big Blue Intercollegiate in Spring Hill, Tenn., with scores of 73-69=142. Carrico, who leads the OVC with a 71.3 scoring average, has carded rounds of par or better in 19-of-28 rounds in the 2010-11 season.

The award marks the third time Carrico has earned the honor this spring (he also won on March 9 and 16) and the fifth overall for MSU. Patrick Newcomb (Sept. 15) and William Hunt (Oct. 6) were also OVC award winners last fall.
The Racers play Monday in Jonesboro, Ark., at the ASU Red Wolves Classic.
MSU's Delaney Howson was a co-OVC women's award winner this week giving Murray State a sweep of the honors.
