Delaney Howson Earns OVC Golfer Of The Week Honor

Murray State's Delaney Howson was named Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office sharing the award with Jacksonville State's Astrid Parsson.

Howson, a freshman from Newmarket, Ontario, placed eighth in the Ole Miss Rebel Invitational last weekend with scores of 72-70-78=220. The showing at Ole Miss event marked the fifth top-10 finish for Howson in her first season at MSU. Her scoring average of 76.2 ranks tops on the MSU team and fifth in the OVC.

The award marked the first for Howson and the third in the 2010-11 season for MSU following Alexandra Lennartsson (Oct. 13) and Caroline Lagerborg (Oct. 20).

Howson's award coupled with MSU men's player Cameron Carrico gave the Racer golf programs a sweep of the OVC honors for the week.

The Racers play Friday in Richmond, Ky., at the EKU Spring Invitational.
