Cross Fires 70 - Racers score Season Best 295 At EKU Event

Racer junior Morgan Cross had a 2-under par 70 in a round that featured five birdies and three bogeys. She was tied for the lead with Austin Peay's Ashley Averitt.
Alexandra Hinteregger is playing the event as an individual and carded an 88.
After Morehead State in fourth place at 306, the rest of the field featured Toldeo (307), Southern Illinois (213), host Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee Tech (314), Bowling Green State and Austin Peay (316), Eastern Kentucky White (321), Marshall (323) and Tennessee State (350).
Round two was delayed for nearly three hours in the afternoon by severe weather in the area. The round started at 2:30 central with plans for the field of 13 teams and 78 competitors to play until dark. The teams will come back Sunday morning and finish round two and the final round.
The Arlington GC is playing to a par of 72 and 5,801 yards.
The Murray State women's golf team grabbed the lead after round one of the EKU Lady Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky., at Arlington GC.
MSU carded a season-best 295 and enjoyed a nine-shot lead over second place Arkansas State and Ohio 304.
