Buch Named adidas OVC Player of the Week

Murray State senior Lauren Buch has been named the adidas OVC Softball Player of the Week for May 2 - 8. This is the second consecutive week she has been selected.
Buch posted a pair of home runs as the Racers finished the week with a split against Western Kentucky and won two out of three at Jacksonville State to clinch the sixth seed in the OVC Championship.
She had six hits on the week to end the season as the OVC batting champion with an average of .421. Her two-run homer on Saturday against Jacksonville State scored the final runs in the Racers' 6-3 win.
She reached base four of five times in the 7-5 win in the finale with JSU. She finished the week with an on-base percentage of .526 and a slugging percentage of 1.000.
She ends the regular season second in the conference with 54 RBI, third with 49 runs, third in home runs with 15 and leads the OVC in both slugging (.857) and on-base percentage (.536).
The Racers kick off play at the 2011 OVC Championships Thursday, May 12, at 10 a.m. against third seed UT Martin.
