Carrico Named To PING All-Region Team

D-I PING All-Region Teams
Murray State Golf senior Cameron Carrico was one of 152 players named to six D-I all-region teams by PING and the Golf Coaches Association.
A native of Owensboro, Ky., Carrico was named to the PING Midwest All-Region Team and was the only player from the Ohio Valley Conference selected.
He wrapped up his collegiate career at MSU recently when he finished 34th in the field of all 75 competitors at the NCAA Golf Championship regional in Zionsville, Ind., with scores of 81-69-72=244.
Carrico earned a spot in the NCAA Championship after the 2010-11 season that saw him win the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year award. He also ranked in the top-5 in NCAA D-I in stroke average and par-4 scoring.
Carrico was one of only five players of the 25 players selected to the Midwest team to come from outside the Big-10 Conference. The others included: John Hahn and Mackenzie Hughes (Kent State), Eric Steger (Ball State) and Nathan Sutherland (Miami of Ohio).
The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) is the professional association of men's golf coaches that was established in 1958.
