TopDrawerSoccer.com Preseason Poll
Murray State soccer has been named a team to watch in the first preseason poll released by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
The Racers are listed 62nd of 64 teams in the website's first poll of the season that projects automatic conference qualifiers and at-large bids to the NCAA women's soccer championships. MSU is the only Ohio Valley Conference school to appear on the list that will be updated every Monday.
"It is nice to see ourselves in a preseason poll, but as everyone knows, this is just an estimation and there is a lot of work that needs to be done to make it a reality," head coach Beth Acreman said. "I know my players will be honored to see themselves among the top 64 and I know it will make them work that much harder to back it up. We still have a lot to do this season to be successful as a team but I am happy with the effort and dedication I have seen so far."
Murray State faces its first full-speed competition of the 2011 season tomorrow afternoon, traveling to Chattanooga for the first of two exhibition games this season.
