Racer Soccer Adds Claire Ward As Assistant Coach

Murray State head soccer coach Beth Acreman announced that Claire Ward has been hired as assistant coach.
Ward has served the previous three seasons as a graduate assistant coach with the Racers.
“I'm very excited to continue to work with the MSU program,” Ward said. “I've learned so much over the years from Coach Acreman and I'm looking forward to the coming season.”
“Claire has brought so much to our program since she's been here at MSU,” Acreman said. “Her experience as a player gives her a unique perspective on the game and she has an ability to teach it. She's a great addition to our staff.”
Ward played for then assistant coach Beth Acreman from 2003-05 at Middle Tennessee where Ward was a three-time all-conference selection in the Sun Belt Conference. As a freshman in 2003, she was the Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year and ended her career at MTSU as one of only four players in program's history to be named all-conference three straight years. Ward started all 60 games while at MTSU.
Ward attended Reid Kerr College in Ayr, Scotland and also played for the Scotland National Team for four years.
She earned a degree in physical education from Middle Tennessee in 2006 and a master's of human development & leadership from Murray State in 2010.
