Final Results

The Murray State men's golf team came home with an 18-place finish at the Cardinal Intercollegiate play at the Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Ky.

William Hunt led MSU with a 54^th place finish after scores of 75-78=153 as the event was reduced to 36 holes because of heavy overnight rain on Sunday.

Wade Thompson finished 85^th with scores of 80-80=160, while Patrick Newcomb posted scores of 78-84=162 and had a spot in 88^th place. Andrew Mitchell finished 92^nd with rounds of 82-84=166. Hunter York withdrew from the event after a first round 80.

The Racers had team scores of 313-326=639.

Arkansas-Little Rock won the event with a 573, with Northern Illinois (581), Wisconsin (582), Louisville (583) and DePaul (583) making up the top-5 teams.

A field of 96 competitors challenged the Cardinal Club course that played to a par of 72 and 6,956 yards.

The Racers return to their home course (Oct. 3-4) to host the MSU Invitational at Miller Memorial Golf Course.
