MSU Golf Signs Three for 2012 Freshman Class

Murray State men's golf coach Eddie Hunt announced the signing of a trio of student-athletes that make up the beginning of the 2012 recruiting class.
Jared Gosser (Russell Springs, Ky.), Daniel Harper (Murray, Ky.) and Duncan McCormick (Morganfield, Ky.) will join the Racers in the fall of 2012 as freshmen.
“I'm very happy to announce that these three you men will be joining our program at Murray State,” Hunt said. “All three have outstanding ability and character and will be a big part of Racer Golf as we move forward into the fall of 2012. They've performed at a high level in events against other great players and I think this group will be able to come in next fall and contribute immediately.”
The current Murray State team begins the 2012 portion of the season at the Samford Intercollegiate (March 4-6) at Hoover Country Club in Hoover, Ala.

Jared Gosser – Russell County HS Gosser joins Murray State after a stellar career at Russell Springs High School where he was a five-year letterman. Gosser also made a name for himself in summer golf as he was the Musselman-Dunne Tour Player of the Year in 2011. Gosser was a 20-time champion in his junior golf career. Jared joins his brother Dustin Gosser who will be a senior in the fall at MSU. |

Daniel Harper – Calloway County HS Harper joins the Racers after a career at Calloway CountyHigh School that saw him place fifth at the 2011 Kentucky State Tournament. In that event, Harper was the only player in the field to card a round under par with a 2-under-par 70 in the second round. During his senior season at CCHS, Harper placed third at the Kentucky Invitational Tournament (KIT) and was fourth at the KHSAA Region-I Tournament. |

Duncan McCormick – Union County High School McCormick becomes a Racer after an outstanding career at Union County HS where he was runner-up for the 2011 Kentucky Mr. Golf award. McCormick was top-10 at the Kentucky State Tournament and was champion of the KHSAA Region-II Tournament. He claimed five individual titles in his prep career. |
